The members of Grassendale Chapter No 4808 held their annual installation ceremony at Woolton Golf Club. Alan Boyle opened the chapter with his fellow principals in step with normal custom. The principals extended a warm and friendly welcome to all the guests in attendance for kindly supporting the chapter.
With the initial business of the chapter thus conducted, the members and visitors were pleased to receive Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals Sam Robinson, Woolton Group Chairman Andrew Whittle, group vice Chairman Mike Cunliffe and acting Provincial grand officers Vic Albin PrDGReg and Doug Lace PrGStdB.
The three principles arose and extended a very warm welcome to Sam Robinson. The ceremony of installation commenced when chapter DC Peter Williams announced that William Pinto, third principal elect, was unable to attend and would be installed into his chair at the next convocation. Peter then proclaimed Brian Boyle second principal then his brother Alan Boyle as first principal, after which they invested their officers for the coming year.
Sam Robinson then gave the address to the companions. On the conclusion of the ceremony, Sam Robinson expressed the best wishes of Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison to the principals. Sam was then presented with a cheque for £150 on behalf of the chapter companions to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. Sam thanked the companions on behalf of the recipients for their generosity.
Following the ceremony, the companions and guests enjoyed the festive board were a raffle was held and raised a further £79.50 for charity.
